新たにリリースされたベルリンを拠点とするアーティスト、ウィリアム・ブリークによるニューシングル「Black and Blue」は、そういった表面的なイメージを払拭し、意外にもニューウェイブ/ダークウェイブ風で聞きやすい。悲しみを捨て去り、奔放な喜びへと向かい、迷いこそあれ、失われた魂とは言えない、他の放浪者たちと共有したベルリンの果てしない夜を描き出している。
「Black and Blue」はブリークのサウンドの進化形である。死の影の中で生きる喜びを見出し、近々リリースされるアルバムの最後を、孤立と苦痛という果てしない絶望からの脱出路となる、色彩豊かな未来への希望のひとしずくで締めくくっている。

Born from a series of unending summer nights spent in graveyards and shadowy streets indulging in shared escapism and sensual excess, "Black and Blue" electrifies as a testament to finding joy in chaos, to finding a new perspective in the eyes of someone else, to coming back to life after a seemingly unending downfall.
