ブルックリンのR&B/ネオソウルシンガー、Yaya Bbey(ヤヤ・ベイ)が、Drink Sum Wtrから6月20日にリリースするニューアルバム『Do It Afraid』を発表した。
このアルバムには、BADBADNOTGOOD、Butcher Brown、Exaktly、Rahrah Gabor、Nigel Hall、Father Philisらとのコラボレーションが収録されている。 今日の発表と同時に、彼女はアルバムの "二面性を体現する "と言われる全く異なる2枚のニュー・シングルを発表した。
ヴィンテージ・ファンクの "Dream Girl "はビデオ付きでリリース。ヤヤいわく、「しばらくの間、パーティに逃避すること」と「自分の欲望を本当に掘り起こすこと-自分の注意を必要とする重たいことが山ほどあることを知りながら、ファンタジーの余地も残しておくこと」を歌っているという。
アルバムの冒頭を飾るダウンテンポのヒップホップナンバー「Wake Up B*tch」は、より物思いにふける一面を披露している。
