Leaving behind classical piano to pursue songwriting, Ian Cobiella is a Los Angeles singer-songwriter who blends classical training with the influence of his Cuban-Bolivian upbringing. 

 

He draws inspiration from folk, alternative, and classical songwriting traditions, seeking to write songs that sit with discomfort rather than rushing past it, and letting emotional honesty lead the way. His production favors intimacy over excess, magnifying missteps and attempts for what they are. 

His latest single, "Trial By Fire", embodies this approach. Declarative and reflective, the song explores the courage it takes to commit fully, and accept outcomes without bitterness. Through thoughtful lyricism and understated production with his producer and mixer Jackson Haile, Ian Cobiella continues to carve out a space for music rooted in effort, vulnerability, and the truth. 

 

He shares, "I’ve recently spent some time looking at my past just for the sake of it; to be honest about it and to laugh at myself, in all of its ridiculousness and immutability.
