ロサンゼルスを拠点に活動するロック界の破壊者、Jane Doeがニューシングル『Menu』をリリース

 

ロサンゼルスを拠点に活動するロック界の破壊者、Jane Doeが新しいミュージック・ビデオ『Menu』をリリースした。このハードなトラックは、バンドの2ndアルバム『Found』に収録されており、過去から脱却し、弱さを揺るぎない強さへと鍛え上げ、力強く象徴的な内容となっている。 

エヴァ・タレウレが監督したこのミュージック・ビデオは、混沌と静寂の間でダイナミックなバランスを保っている。

冒頭は、溶けるようなギター・リフと塩辛い反抗的な歌詞で始まり、カメラはリード・シンガーのイジーの横顔をとらえる。 曲が進むにつれ、ド迫力のベース、躍動的なドラム、魂を揺さぶるボーカルが炸裂する。 イジーの手がフレームに入り、髪を切り落とし、電気カミソリを渡されて残りの頭を剃る。

「私は自分のエージェンシーを取り戻し、新しい章をスタートさせた。 再出発の必要性には、多くの人が共感してくれると感じています。 カメラに向かって頭を剃ることは、本当に自由なことでした。 誰も "伝統的な "美やイメージの概念に合わせる必要はありません。 この曲は、そんな古臭い思考回路と闘うことを歌っているんだ」

Jane Doeの全米（US/CDN）キャンペーンは、2019年1月のデビュー・アルバム『Identified』とともに開始され、伝説的なハウィー・ワインバーグがマスタリングを担当した。 残酷なまでに正直な「Final Line」、「This is a Rock Song」のような壮大なスローバックやオマージュ・トラック、そして力を与えてくれる「Scab」や心を揺さぶる「Scar Territory」などの曲で、Jane Doeの音楽は新たな多世代のサウンドトラックの一部となった。

Jane Doe’s National (US/CDN) campaign launched along with their debut album "Identified", January 2019 and was mastered by none other than the legendary Howie Weinberg. Their sophomore album Found was released in the summer of 2024 and received much critical acclaim. Their single "The Menu” is an enthralling listen that encompasses a powerful and symbolic shedding of the past, where vulnerability is forged into unshakable strength. The music video directed by Ava Taleure strikes a dynamic balance between moments of chaos and calm. It opens with a face-melting guitar riff and salty, defiant lyrics, as the camera locks on the poised profile of lead singer Izzy -  still, focused, and poised. As the song progresses, the track explodes with thumping bass, kinetic drums, and soul-shaking vocals. Izzy’s hands come into frame, chopping her hair off until she’s handed an electric razor and shaves the rest of her head.

Above all else, Jane Doe is the generation that doesn’t fit a specific mold. Jane Doe is a square peg in a round hole. Jane Doe is the wave of people who identify with the past but shape the future.
