シカゴのチェロ奏者、Lia Kohl(リア・コール)が新作アルバム『The Ceiling Reposes』を発表 3月10日にAmerican Dreamsから発売

近年、Makaya McCraven, Whitney, Circuit des Yeux, Claire Rousay等と仕事をしているシカゴのチェリスト兼作曲家のLia Kohl（リア・コール）が、2枚目のアルバム制作完了を発表した。

『The Ceiling Reposes』は、2023年3月10日にAmerican Dreams Recordsから発売される。さらに、この告知と併行して新曲「sit on the floor and wait for storms」が発表されました。この曲は、コールによると「天気予報の断片が含まれており、それを書き起こすと、素敵で奇妙な小さな詩の骨格になる」という。

 

『The Ceiling Reposes』のレコーディングは、主にワシントン州のヴァション島で録音されたラジオの生サンプルから構成されています。Koh（コール）は、これらのサンプルを「found lyrics」として捉え、Kurt Chiang, Alyssa Martinez, Elizabeth Metzger, Corey Smith, Macie Stewart, Marvin Tate, Karima Walkerといった詩人や作詞家を招いて、その内容を練り上げていきました。出来上がった詩は、アルバムと共に、オンラインやジンとしてリリースされる予定です。
