Swelt、ライブ映像シリーズ『Dug It Out』を3回に分けてリリース 第三弾「Ready The Moon」で完結

　イギリス/ブリストルで結成された四人組のスロウコア/アルト・フォークバンド、Sweltがライブ映像シリーズ『DUG IT OUT』を3回に分けてリリースします。

 

Sweltは、ロンドンのDeathcrashと共にイギリスのスロウコアシーンの有望株に挙げられる。彼らはフォーク、アメリカーナ、ポストロックの影響を融合させ、スパースでメランコリックなコンポジションのタペストリーを紡ぐ。TalonsとIceman Furniss Quartetのメンバーからなる4人組は2020年にブリストルで結成された。その後2年間を、作曲と市内各地での小規模のライブに費やしている。

『DUG IT OUT』はウェイクフィールドのプロモーター/BodysのためにThe Establishmentで行われた最近のライブを録画した貴重な映像で、彼らの新旧の曲のライブカットを収録している。

 

第一回目の公開は本日（3月17日）、そして第二回目の公開は3月24日、第3回目は3月31日に公開される予定です。

 

Sweltのギタリスト、クリス・ヒックスは、最初の映像について次のように述べています。

「ライブでは、できる限りダイナミックでミニマルな演奏をして、静かで蠢くメロディとリズムにロックすることで、激しい雰囲気を伝えようとしています。”DUG IT OUT”は、これらの曲の現在の形のスナップショットである」

　さらに、3月24日、Sweltはライブ映像シリーズ『Dug It Out』の第二弾「Red Mountain」を公開しました。

 

この曲はバンドの2022年に発表された最新EP『Red Mountain EP』にタイトル曲として収録されています。スロウコアの代表格であるRed House Paintersの音楽性を彷彿とさせる内省的かつロマンチックなスロウコアとなっている。また、この曲で、バンドは美麗な弦楽器を交えつつ、曲の中盤では、ワイドでダイナミックな展開力を見せ、波打つような情感を引き出している。

ブリストルのバンドの高いポテンシャルを決定づける渾身の一作です。マンチェスター/ロンドンのアートロックバンド、Carolineが好きな方にも強くお薦めします。

　３月上旬から３回にわたってライブ映像シリーズ『Dug It Out」を公開してきたイギリスのインディーロックバンドSweltは、いよいよ第三弾となる「Ready To Moon」を公開して、３月３１日にシリーズを完結させました。この曲では、フロントマンのクリスがエレアコギターに持ち替え、前２曲よりもソフトで優しげなオルトフォークをライブで披露しています。また、この曲は既存のEPやシングルには収録されていない未発表曲となっています。

 Swelt, a four-piece slowcore/alt-folk band formed in Bristol, is releasing a three-part live video series, "DUG IT OUT".

 

Swelt weaves a tapestry of sparse, melancholic compositions, blending folk, Americana, and post-rock influences. swelt, made up of members of Talons and the Iceman Furniss Quartet, formed in Bristol in 2020. They spent the next two years writing and playing intimate gigs around the city.

 

"DUG IT OUT" is a rare video recording of a recent show at The Establishment for Wakefield promoter/Bodys, and is part of a series of live cuts of new and old Swelt songs.

 

The first installment will be released today (March 17), followed by the second on March 24 and the third on March 31.

 

Swelt guitarist Chris had this to say about the first video. 

"Live, we try to convey an intense atmosphere by playing as dynamic and minimalistic as possible and locking into quiet, stirring melodies and rhythms." "DUG IT OUT" is a snapshot of these songs in their current form."

The live series being released today features a live performance of "Billy" from the band's debut Red Mountain EP. The live video is available for limited release.

　Additionally, on March 24, Swelt released "Red Mountain," the second installment in their "Dug It Out" live video series.

The song appears as the title track on the band's latest EP, the Red Mountain EP, released in 2022. It is an introspective and romantic slowcore that is reminiscent of the musical style of Red House Painters.In this song, the band also shows a wide, dynamic developmental ability in the middle of the song, with beautiful strings, bringing out the rippling emotions.

This is a work that defines the high potential of the Bristol band. Highly recommended for those who like the Manchester/London art-rock band Caroline.

 After releasing the live video series "Dug It Out" three times since early March, British indie rock band Swelt finally released the third installment, "Ready To Moon," on March 31. 

 

In this song, frontman Chris switches to an electric acoustic guitar and delivers a softer, gentler live slowcore than the previous two tracks. This song is also an unreleased track that has not been included on any existing EP or single. It will be interesting to see what the band does in the future.
