2024年度グラミー賞のノミネート候補が明らかになった。テイラー・スウィフト、オリヴィア・ロドリゴ、SZA、ラナ・デル・レイ、ボーイジーニアス、マイリー・サイラス、フー・ファイターズ、アークティック・モンキーズがノミネートされた。

今年で66回目を迎えるグラミー賞は、対象期間（2022年10月1日～2023年9月15日）にリリースされた最高のアルバム、楽曲、音楽を表彰する。

2024年のグラミー賞は、2024年2月4日にロサンゼルスのCrypto.com Arenaで開催される。同イベントはCBSとParamount+で生放送される。

今年の新カテゴリーには、最優秀ポップ・ダンス・レコーディング賞、最優秀オルタナティヴ・ジャズ・アルバム賞、最優秀アフリカン・ミュージック・パフォーマンス賞が追加された。その他の変更点としては、"ビッグ4 "部門（アルバム、レコード、楽曲、最優秀新人賞）のノミネート者数が10人から8人に減らされる。AIについては、「グラミー賞への応募、ノミネート、受賞の対象となるのは、人間のクリエイターのみ。人間の作者を含まない作品は、どの部門においても受賞資格がない。

大晦日のテレビ特番でニューシングル「Flowers」が1月13日に発売されることを明らかにした米国の大ヒット歌手、Miley Cyrus(マイリー・サイラス)が、ニューアルバム「Endless Summer Vacation」をコロンビア・レコードから3月10日にリリースすることを発表しました。

 

このプロジェクトの詳細は、Kid Harpoon、Greg Kurstin、Mike WiLL Made-It、Tyler Johnsonというオールスター・ラインナップを含む制作協力者以外にはほとんど詳らかにされていない。さらに、収録曲も現時点では未定。『Endless Summer Vacation』は、サイラスの「L.A.へのラブレター」と言われている。Endless Summer Vacationの "予告編"と "Flowers "のティーザー・クリップは以下をご覧ください。

この新譜は、サイラスにとって2020年の『プラスティック・ハーツ』以来の作品となり、RCAからリリースされた4枚のうちの最後の1枚となる。30歳のパフォーマーは、先日、元スミスのフロントマンがキャピトル・レコードとマネジメント会社との関係を断ち切ったことで、大幅に遅れている新作『Bonfire of Teenagers』で、モリッシーとのコラボから外されるよう求めたことで話題に上った。

この曲には、マイリー・サイラスが制作し、Jacob Bixenmanが監督、Stephen Gallowayがムーブメント・ディレクションを担当したビデオが付属しています。この曲のPVは、サイラスが制作し、ジェイコブ・ビクセンマンが監督、スティーブン・ギャロウェイがムーブメントを担当しています。

『Endless Summer Vacation』は、3月10日にコロンビアから上陸予定。2020年の『Plastic Hearts』に続く本作はロサンゼルスでレコーディングされ、Mike Will Made-It、Greg Kurstin、Tyler Johnson、Kid Harpoonがプロダクションに名を連ねている。また、マイリー・サイラスは昨年の大晦日、デイヴィッド・バーンと共演し、米国のテレビ番組を賑わしている。

BRITアワード2024の全ノミネートが決定した。英国音楽の最大のパーティー、BRITアワードが3月2日にロンドンのO2アリーナで開催される。この華やかな授賞式の模様は、ITV / ITVXで生中継される。

昨年は視聴者数が大きく伸びたが、2024年も好調の兆しであり、BRIT Awardsのソーシャルメディア・チャンネルでノミネートの全容が発表された。驚くべきは、昨年、最新作『Hackney Diamonds』をリリースしたローリングストーンズが47年目にして初のノミネートとなった。

マイリー・サイラスのファンとして、なんという瞬間だろう。「Flowers」は、単なるサプライズ・カムバック・ヒットではなく、マイライズムの勝利である。タブロイド・スキャンダルやエレクトロ・スリーゼが渦巻く『Bangerz』時代の「Wrecking Ball」以来、10年ぶりのナンバーワン・ヒットとなった。

しかし、今、彼女はついに、ずっとなりたかったオールドスクールな大人の伝説へと変貌を遂げた。土曜日にリリースされる離婚後のアルバム『Endless Summer Vacation』のリード・シングル「Flowers」は、ハンナ・モンタナから世界的な大人への旅の集大成となる。この瞬間は現代のポップス界で最も長く、最も奇妙な物語の1つの頂点にあるチェリーである。

『Endless Summer Vacation』の発売前には、オリジナルとデモの2つのバージョンを併録する「Flower」だけしか公開されなかった。これは興行の面で大きな効果を生むためのコロンビア・レコードの奇策の一つと言え、当日まで、アルバムの内容をミステリアスなベールで覆うことにより、発売時の音楽の印象を際立たせようとしたのです。

  

すでに、かなりの賛否両論を巻き起こしている作品ですが、年代を問わず楽しめるアルバムとなっています。少なくとも、哀愁と情熱を織り交ぜた「Flowers」や、それ続く、繊細さとダイナミックス性を兼ね備えた「Jaded」の2つの王道のポピュラー・ソングにおいて、サイラスは歌手としての抜群の安定力を見せ、華美さにとらわれない音楽を通じ、安らぎと晴れやかさを与えてくれる。これはサイラスなるシンガーの歌が類い稀な存在感を持ち、さらにオーディエンスを聴き入らせる情感の深さを持ち合わせていることを証左しているように思える。

9月3日にロンドンのウェンブリー・スタジアムで開催されるテイラー・ホーキンスのトリビュート・コンサートに参加したいと思う人は少なくないでしょう。幸いなことに、バンドはこのコンサートをライブでストリーミングする計画を発表しています。

日本時間、午前11時30分/午後4時30分より、アメリカでは、Paramount+、海外では、Pluto TVでライブ中継が行われます。また、MTVのYouTubeチャンネルでグローバル・ライブストリームが放映される予定です。

さらに追悼コンサートの後、9月3日（土）22:00（日本時間）より、アメリカの放送局CBSでハイライト映像を含む1時間のスペシャル番組が放送されます。コンサートの模様は、9月5日の週からParamount+、Pluto TV、MTVでオンデマンド配信される予定です。

テイラー・ホーキンスの遺族の同意を得て、フー・ファイターズはロンドンのウェンブリー・スタジアムで「オールスター・ロック・ショー」を行い、故ドラマーを偲ぶ。

　モリッシーは、新しいソロ・アルバム『Bonfire of Teenagers』を2023年2月にキャピタル・レコードからリリースすると発表しました。この新作の告知自体は６月の上旬に公表されていたものの、肝心の発売元が明らかにされていなかった。

『Bonfire of Teenagers』は、プロデューサーのAndrew Watt（アンドリュー・ワット）とともにロサンゼルスでレコーディングされた。

 

アルバムの11曲を通して、MorrisseyはMiley Cyrus、Iggy Pop、Red Hot Chili PeppersのChad SmithとFlea、Josh Klinghoffer、Jesse Tobiasといった大物コラボレーターと一緒に参加しています。

キャピトル・レコードは『Bonfire of Teenagers』を全世界でリリースする予定だが、現在シンガーがレーベル契約を結んでいない英国は除く。さらに、キャピトルはモリッシーの過去のアルバム（Southpaw Grammar、You Are The Quarry、Ringleader of the Tormentors、Years of Refusal、World Peace is None of Your Businessなど）の再発売権をライセンス供与しています。

テイラー・スウィフトは、プロデューサーにジャック・アントノフを迎えて制作された10枚目のスタジオアルバム「ミッドナイツ」とそのブレイクヒット「アンチヒーロー」が同時にオフィシャルアルバムとシングルチャートで1位を獲得し、比較的珍しいオフィシャルチャートダブルを達成した最新のアーティストとなった。

デビューから13年以上経過した今、テイラーは、アークティック・モンキーズとの競争を勝ち抜き、これまでの彼女のキャリアで最も爆発的なオープニング週となった『ミッドナイツ』でオフィシャル・アルバム・チャートの1位の座に返り咲いた形である。

 

本日発表されたオフィシャル・チャート・カンパニーの新しいデータによると、テイラーは7日間で20万4000枚という驚異的なUKチャートセールスをシフトしており、これは2014年にアルバム『1989』がチャートデビューした際に達成した90300枚というこれまでの自己ベストの2倍以上となる。 

今年これまでで最も速く売れたアルバムである『ミッドナイト』は、2022年のこれまでのタイトルを保持する『ハリーズ・ハウス』を抜き、ハリー・スタイルの初週の数字（チャート売上11万3000枚）をほぼ2倍にしている。また、テイラーの10枚目のスタジオLPは、昨年11月に26万1000枚のチャート・セールスを記録したアデルの『30』以来、最大の初週アルバム・セールスでデビューを飾った。

「ミッドナイト」は、初週に今年最もストリーミングされたアルバムのタイトルも獲得している。この記録は、7日間で7,250万回のストリーミングを誇り、今年初めにリリースされたハリー・スタイルズの『ハリーズ・ハウス』の5,390万回を上回っている。

9作連続でアルバム・チャート1位を獲得したテイラー・スウィフトが、マドンナを抜いてオフィシャル・チャートの新記録を樹立し、女性アーティストとして最速で9作連続でアルバム・チャート1位を獲得した。 

 

テイラー・スウィフトは、ちょうど10年前の2012年10月に『Red』で初めてアルバム全英1位を獲得したが、マドンナは同じ記録を達成するのに21年を要した。

1963年5月のデビュー・アルバム『プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー』から1968年12月の『ホワイト・アルバム』までの5年7ヶ月間で9枚のチャート・トップを記録したビートルズが、ここでの総合記録を持っている。
